Ōwhango Alive Newsletter – Autumn 2025

Ōwhango Alive has had a dynamic few months, with new leadership under Amber-Krystle Stier and a wide range of conservation activities. Highlights include a successful World Rivers Day event, local school visits, and the exciting milestone of 10,000 pests trapped. The group secured $10,000 in funding from the Alan Rosoman Trust for new live-capture trap technology, enhancing predator control in Ohinetonga Scenic Reserve.

Volunteers also conducted eDNA testing at the lagoon, continued vital bird monitoring, and ran community events like Mahi Aroha. Special thanks to all who contributed, including featured volunteer David Robinson for his ongoing support from afar. Read the full newsletter here
